The names of these children always tell the story, I also heard his grandma on the wireless earlier. I'm sorry but you just know what kind of parents they are.

Mine are 11 & 13 and I'm still paranoid about where they are.

As Nurse said it is tragic, and yes I too had the freedom to roam when I was a kid.
To my mates, out on bikes all day.
Its a different world. If I said to my 9 year old she had to walk to school tomorrow, she'd look at me like I was a martian (plus point out school had broken up already).

I was thinking that when i heard the news. Mine were only allowed to play with neighbours kids in their houses at that age. If they were out playing it was just where i could see them when i was sitting outside my door.
This is shocking...poor little sod.

Just tragic.
There can't be many parents who would take this sort of risk these days, but on holidays in the 70s I was allowed to wander on my own for the whole day and early evening on the Isle of Sheppey from the age of about 7. Beaches, marshes, cliffs, and coves exposed at low tide and underwater within minutes when the tide came back in. I absolutely loved it.
Poor little Conley.

I can't even begin to try and understand what the fuck the parents were doing. Tragic news but they need to be held accountable for their actions.
And they only got worried enough to report it at 10pm when he hadn't returned?? He was 7 years old ffs.
